- Choose a Smart Spot for Your Tree & Keep It Hydrated– A well-placed tree is also key to staying safe during the holidays. You want to make sure your tree is placed away from any heat source such as fireplaces, radiators, vents, etc. Along with placing your tree away from these heat sources, you want to make sure your tree is well-hydrated at all times to keep it from getting dry and becoming a fire hazard.
